Please note :

  • Please note that a Pivot account is required to apply for business and accommodation permits.
  • Applications are processed in order of receipt;
  • Please allow 10 working days for a response;
  • The analysis of the application begins only when the application submitted has been paid and is declared valid, complete by the municipal officer;
  • That the analysis of the application, as well as the 60-day delay, begins only when the application submitted is declared valid and complete by the municipal officer; 
  • That an application received without the necessary documents and/or information will be declared incomplete and refused.
  • This form is intended for the annual renewal of existing business permits only;
  • Application without modifications only. If modifications are required, please submit a new business permit application.

What you need to know before obtaining this permit

Please refer to section 6.4 of Bylaw 1219-22 Permits and Certificates.

  • Fees: (Subject to change without notice)

    • $30 (complementary residential use - home-based business)
    • $85 (commercial use)

  • Validity of a use authorization certificate (business permit) : A business permit is valid from the date of issue to December 31 of the same year. 
  • Renewal of certificate of authorization: It is the responsibility of the business owner to ensure that the certificate of authorization is renewed each year. Please submit the renewal application no later than January 31.

List of documents to be provided

(These documents must be submitted if applicable to your business).

  • Public health certificate or inspection (e.g.: restaurants, daycare centers, beauty salons).
  • Copy of maintenance contract attesting that the device that intercepts fats, oils or grease will be maintained and emptied as needed according to regulatory standards in compliance with the current Quebec Construction Code.
  • Authorization from the Ministère de l'Environnement (e.g.: emissions, discharge into water).
  • Permit from the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux (for the sale or service of alcohol).
  • Authorization to use hazardous materials (if applicable).
  • Specific permit for transport or commercial operation of heavy vehicles (if applicable).
  • Approval from a professional association (e.g. Order of Physicians, Dentists, Engineers, etc.).
  • Valid CITQ certificate (mandatory for short-term rental renewal applications). Please attach a copy of the document.

The citizen acknowledges that should the inspection reveal that the work differs from that for which the permit or certificate was issued, the municipality will apply the penalty stipulated in its by-laws without any further notice.
