This notice describes the personal information protection policies and practices applied by the Municipality of (hereinafter the “Municipality”) in connection with this service (hereinafter the “Service”).

Personal Information Collected

Information, which relates to a natural person and which allows him to be identified, directly or indirectly, is personal information (“PI”).

The Municipality only collects the personal information that is necessary for the purposes of creating your user account and using the Service. This personal information is:

• First and last name;
• Address;
• Email Address;
• Landline number (if applicable);
• Cell phone number (if applicable).

Uses

The Municipality collects, uses and discloses personal information for the following purposes:

• Creating and managing a user account for the Service;
• Authentication and management of access to and use of the Service;
• Respond to and process user requests;
• Customization of user subscription preferences to the Service;
• The transmission of notices according to the preferences of the user of the Service.

Mode of collection and consent

Personal information is collected directly from the citizen. The PI provided must be accurate, complete and up-to-date.

The Municipality obtains your consent to the collection, use and communication of your PI or avails itself of an applicable exception.

Withdrawal of consent

It will generally not be possible to withdraw your consent to the use of your personal information for the management and administration of the Service by the Municipality. Indeed, the uses of collected PI that are described above are required for the purposes of managing and operating the Service. Thus, although you have the right to withdraw your consent to the use of your personal information, if necessary, the Municipality will no longer be able to give you access to the Service.

Access and Communications

Your personal information is accessible only to Municipality staff members who need access to it in the performance of their duties.

The Municipality may also provide access to or communicate your personal information to third parties, including service providers within the framework and for the purposes of the execution of service contracts, or to public authorities, for example:

• A person acting for you with your consent;
• Our service providers, including the company that operates the Service;
• A public investigative or law enforcement agency, including criminal and penal prosecution authorities;
• The Commission d’accès à l’information (control authority for the protection of personal information) and to all persons authorized to obtain it by law.

The Municipality does not rent, sell or trade your personal information.

Conservation/Destruction/Location

The Municipality keeps your personal information for the time necessary for the uses for which it was collected and for the applicable legal retention periods, which can sometimes justify longer retention periods. Destruction or anonymization (removal of information that identifies a person) is done in a secure manner.

The Municipality uses systems and technology service providers that ensure the safe storage of your personal information in order to maintain its confidentiality.

Browsing cookies and Google Analytics

Navigation cookies

Navigation cookies (commonly called "cookies") are used to facilitate and optimize your navigation on the Service. Cookies consist of files that are downloaded and stored on a device used for browsing the Internet. The cookies used by the Municipality do not allow the collection of personal information about users.

Most browsers used to access the Internet accept cookies by default. A user can, at any time, modify the privacy settings of his browser to block cookies or delete those that are already stored. This action does not prevent access to the Service, but may affect its performance during your visit.

Google Analytics

The Municipality uses analysis tools (Google Analytics) for its Service. These tools allow the collection, analysis, measurement and presentation of data on the visits made, with the aim of understanding and optimizing the use of the Service.

The Municipality keeps this type of information to record, among other things:

• The number of visitors;
• The most frequented pages;
• The technology used by the customers of its Service;
• Referring sites;
• The country of origin of users of the Service.

Security

The Municipality applies security measures proportional to the degree of sensitivity of your personal information in order to preserve its confidentiality.

In particular, the Municipality uses encryption to preserve the confidentiality of information that passes between a user's device and the Service.

The Municipality also applies administrative and physical measures to preserve the security of your personal information.

Although the Municipality applies adequate security measures to protect your personal information and reduce the risk of breaches, the Municipality cannot guarantee 100% that your personal information will not be subject to a breach of confidentiality or integrity in the event of a breach of our security measures. If you have reason to believe that your personal information has been compromised while using the Service, please contact the Office of the Privacy Officer listed below.

The Municipality respects your legal rights regarding your personal information and thus applies procedures to process the following requests:

Accessing and Correcting Your Personal Information

You will be able to consult the personal information that the Municipality has collected or obtained about you through the use of the Service, verify its accuracy and modify it if necessary, subject however to exceptions provided for in the law. Requests for access and rectification are free. However, reasonable fees may be charged for the transcription, reproduction or transmission of your personal information. Your request for access or rectification should be sent to the office of the Privacy Officer at the coordinates found below and will be processed in accordance with applicable requirements.

Automated processing

If the Municipality implements a decision-making process that is based exclusively on automated processing (without human intervention) of personal information, and which relies solely on an algorithm, you will be informed of this and will be informed of your right to present your observations on this decision.

Portability

You will be able to obtain, upon request, a copy of the personal information that has been collected or obtained about you through the use of the Service. In the absence of serious practical difficulties, you may request that your personal information be communicated to you in a structured and commonly used technological format.
