Drinking water use regulations
At the June 1^st Council meeting, Municipal Council adopted the revised drinking water use by-law. We invite you to take note of the measures to be respected.
Summary of the by-law in effect between May 1^st and October 15^th:
- Monday: watering, filling a pool or spa and washing a vehicle or building is prohibited at all times.
- Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday: mechanical watering is permitted between 3:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. for buildings with even-numbered addresses, when it is not raining.
- Wednesday, Friday and Sunday: mechanical watering is permitted between 3:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. for buildings with odd-numbered addresses, when it is not raining.
In addition, the certificate of authorization for watering a new lawn or turf allows residents who have requested it to water for a maximum of 2 hours per day for a period of 15 days only.
Collective compliance with these regulations will ensure a stable and consistent supply for the entire population. Sound management of drinking water is essential at all times, but even more so in times of drought or extreme heat.
