Green fund - Applicant form


The Green Fund is an annual municipal program that supports environmental, sustainable development and active transportation projects. The Green Fund Policy details the program's objectives and eligibility criteria. The Environment Department is available to answer any questions about the process or project eligibility.

Please note: In order for your project to be eligible for the Green Fund program analysis process, this form must be completed in its entirety. It is not possible to save your application during the process. Please read the form in its entirety before beginning the application process, to make sure you have all the necessary information on hand.

Projects submitted will be reviewed by the Environment Department to determine conformity. Complete applications are then presented to council for selection and final approval. All applicants will receive a follow-up e-mail from the Environment Department following the council meeting. Project proposals will be presented to council early 2025.

Do you have an existing partnership and/or agreement(s) with a level of government (municipal, regional county municipality, provincial or federal) for your proposed project?
Your project is still eligible for this program if you have an existing partnership. However, the Municipality must be notified.

Project mission

These types of projects are eligible for the program. Please indicate the type that is applicable to your project.
A study:
A preparatory research project allowing to accomplish a task, make a decision and/or complete a project by having all the necessary information to do so.

An awareness project:
An awareness-raising project is characterized by a workshop, a conference, a presentation, a publication, the distribution of educational material or any other action whose objective is to raise awareness among citizens and businesses about environmental issues affecting the community.

Structuring action:
A project that allows the implementation of tools or elements to improve or protect the quality of the environment.

An event:
An event is a set of public activities with an environmental theme and a specific duration.

Exceptional or large-scale project:
This type of project may involve a group of several stakeholders or community actors to carry out a large-scale project with a fi nal impact on more than one objective and/or area of intervention at a time.

Project description

This section is dedicated to the detailed presentation of your initiative. You must complete all the following sections to be eligible for the program.

Explain the reason(s) why you wish to submit a project to the program
Detail the steps of your project, including the participants, the timetable and the materials needed to carry out your initiative. Your project must be completed within the year for which you are applying. You must therefore assign a time period or deadline(s) to each stage of your project.
List the organizing members who will be involved in the project and their respective roles
Explain the project's expected results in qualitative terms (e.g. improving community well-being, raising awareness of a specific issue, etc.) and/or quantitative terms (number of trees planted, number of people involved, etc.).

Who is your target audience (e.g. businesses, citizens, students, etc.)? What are the environmental, community and financial benefits of your project?
Does your project require the involvement of one or more municipal departments (e.g. communications, public works, etc.)?
If there are other elements of your project that you'd like to highlight, you can do so here (e.g. similar successful projects, your work experience or examples of similar projects you've completed, etc.).

Budget

The Green Fund can subsidize from 50 to 75% of your initiative according to the following terms and conditions. Please indicate the category that applies to your project.

Expenses eligible for the Green Fund include professional services, advertising/promotion costs and materials required to carry out the project. Please fill in below the categories that apply to your project.

Please note, a complete list of ineligible expenses can be found in the Green Fund Policy.

This category of eligible expenses includes :
- Expenses associated with hiring professional/technical consultants or contractors, including a professional employee or member of
the organization, involved in the technical or financial aspects of the project.
- Costs associated with products or services related to the technical, environmental or financial aspects of the project.

N.B. If you or a member of your group qualifies as an expert consultant for your project, you can include his or her time as an eligible project expense (expense in kind).
This category of eligible expenses includes :
- All expenses related to the development and publication of communications tools directly linked to the project in question (survey, posters, flyers, etc.).
This category of eligible expenses includes :
- All materials required for the project (e.g. bike racks, coolers for water samples, etc.).
