Please note :

  • This permit can be expedited only if there are no constraints on the site (mass movement, wetlands, habitat connectivity territory, watercourse);
  • That applications will be analyzed in order of receipt;
  • Expedited permits for fences and low walls only: a response is expected within 72 working hours;
  • Regular permit for retaining wall and access gate/pool enclosure: please allow 10 working days for a response;
  • Applications received without the necessary documents and/or information will be refused.

  • fence: 2 m
  • wall: 1.5 m

Fence for pool : Minimum height 1.2 m

* A retaining wall with a height of 1 metre or more at any point requires a plan from an  engineer.

What you need to know before obtaining this permit

The cost of the permit is $30.

The citizen acknowledges that, from time to time, the municipality reserves the right to inspect work carried out on its territory to ensure compliance with current regulations.

The citizen acknowledges that should the inspection reveal that the work differs from that for which the permit or certificate was issued, the municipality will apply the penalty stipulated in its by-laws without any further notice.
