Next update: May 1, 2026, at 3:00 p.m.

The Municipality of Chelsea wishes to inform the population that a precautionary boil water advisory is in effect for the entire water network due to a mechanical failure. Residents affected by this advisory must bring their water to a rolling boil at least one minute before consumption, until the advisory is lifted.

Water previously boiled for one minute, or bottled water, must be used for the following purposes:

  • Drinking and preparing beverages;
  • Preparing baby bottles and baby food;
  • Washing and preparing foods eaten raw (fruits, vegetables, etc.);
  • Preparing foods that do not require prolonged cooking (canned soups, desserts, etc.);
  • Making ice cubes;
  • Brushing teeth and rinsing mouth.

You can use unboiled tap water for :

  • Wash dishes in hot water, making sure to dry them thoroughly;
  • Wash clothes and take a shower or bath. For young children, make sure they don't ingest water while bathing, or wash them with a washcloth.

Our team is currently working to resolve the situation. An update on the situation will be issued on Friday, May 1, 2026 at 9 a.m.
