Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Flushing the water distribution network is an essential preventive maintenance operation that removes minerals that are naturally present in the water, which can accumulate on the inner walls of the pipes over time.
To perform this cleaning, we temporarily increase the flow rate of water through the system and flush out the deposits through fire hydrants. The work is carried out along predetermined routes, which allow for a more thorough cleaning.
During the work, you may notice a temporary drop in water pressure or a reddish tint in the water caused by rust particles being stirred up.
This situation is temporary, but it may cause some inconvenience, such as stains on fabrics. That is why we recommend that you avoid doing laundry or washing dishes between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m., Monday through Friday, until August 21, 2026.
If the water coming out of your faucet is discoloured, let the cold water run for a few minutes until it becomes clear again. Although its appearance may be temporarily affected, this situation poses no health risk.
Flushing the water system is an important step in maintaining the quality and performance of our water distribution network. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this work.
